Quality of Life

Dear Friends,

 

 

Unfortunately, the uncertainties facing all of us in this time of the Novel Coronavirus have forced us to cancel our annual Quality of Life Cancer Fund Dinner, which was to take place this summer on July 13th.   Our program, included Dr. Laurie Hollis Glimcher, MD, president and CEO of the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, Dr Richard Klausner, CEO Lyell Immunopharma, and Dr William Kaelin, a 2019 recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize in Medicine.  In addition, Renee Fleming had accepted our invitation to curate the musical program for the evening.  Of course, Bruce and Seth were composing a very delicious menu, and our committee was gathering ideas to transform our garden for a gorgeous evening.

 

 

In the face of COVID-19, the work of the Quality of Life Fund must continue --- our Cancer patients need us more than ever before!  With compromised immune systems, our friends in the Valley still must navigate their travel to appointments, grocery shopping, day care, and the daily living tasks that most of us take for granted.  Many of us are helping our friends and neighbors where we can, however, those facing Cancer and Coronavirus need extra help.  That’s where Quality of Life comes in, to ease a burden to an already overburdened community.

 

 

 

In this time of doubt, Quality of Life continues to be a lifeline for our cancer patients in the Roaring Fork Valley. Please consider supporting QOL at the same level you did in years’ past, if possible.   We are enclosing a donation form for your convenience. Any amount that you feel you can donate would be most appreciated, as 2020 has proven to be an uncertain time for all of us. This year, because there are no goods or services provided to you, your donation is 100% tax deductible!

 

 

We will miss seeing you this July and look forward to all of us getting back to the world we knew. Next year, we promise an “extra helping of Berger hospitality” for our 14th annual Quality of Life Cancer Fund dinner.
